Long Beach Tires & Steering

ACA Can Reveal Damaged or Faulty Steering Components

It doesn't matter what you drive — whether it's a car, truck, SUV, or motorcycle — your tires have a lot to do with the way your vehicle handles on the road. Steering is affected by tire issues and vice versa. Making sure you have proper power steering fluids at the appropriate levels is important, just as you should make sure your vehicle is properly aligned. An inspection of your tires can sometimes reveal problems with your vehicle's steering system. If you're experiencing tire and/or steering issues, visit the trained experts at ACA Automotive here in Long Beach, California. Our certified technicians will inspect and repair your vehicle so it operates at its best!

Common Tire and Steering Problems

Multiple factors can affect your vehicle's handling and performance. If wheels are unbalanced, you'll experience vibrations at highway speeds that can be felt in the steering wheel and/or the seat. If wheels are misaligned, you'll have excessive tire wear and steering or tracking problems. If your vehicle is pulling to the side, be aware that unequal tire pressure, brakes, and power steering can also be responsible. For example, your car’s power steering system is comprised of hoses that can develop leaks, and since power steering fluid is essential, low levels can cause damage. Some signs you have power steering problems include: difficulty turning the wheel, erratic power assist, a loud whining from the pump, frequent fluid replacement, or squealing belts. Other steering components can be bent or damaged from wear and tear, which can cause steering play, wandering, uneven tire wear, and off-center steering wheel. If you experience any of the symptoms above, Advanced Computer Automotive is ready to help.
